If you are looking for information on how to report an injury for the HRFC Junior club follow this link
- In all instances, the primary consideration is to make sure you or others are not making things worse.
- DO NOT move the casualty until they have been assessed
- Keep calm, reassure casualty and keep them warm. (there are heavy blankets at lock-ups at pitch & at training)
- Summon the first-aider/medical personnel to the scene. (Club first aiders are listed at the bottom of the contacts page)
- Remain with the casualty until first-aider arrives
- Request that someone else moves the other players away from the scene and ensure they are supervised and protected from the weather.
- Ensure medical staff/first aider is attending injured person and has sufficient assistance
- If the incident or injury does not require further medical attention beyond first aid, then advise the parent/guardian, preferably same day
- Medical staff/first aider may ask for an ambulance to be called
- If an ambulance is required at a HRFC location, then ensure best access point is provided to emergency services based on your location
- Someone may need to arrange park staff to get gates unlocked for access, depending on location
- Someone will need to be positioned to meet the ambulance at the location given
- If ambulance access on to the pitch is required, and particularly if an air ambulance has been sent, ensure all training and matches in the vicinity are stopped
- Ensure the ambulance access route is clear of obstructions
- Ensure parent/guardian are informed if appropriate (emergency contact details should be under ICE for child record in Pitchero - Team Managers and Coaches will have access to the information)
- If no parent/guardian is present, arrange for the injured player to be accompanied to hospital by a club member
- Report the incident
